This fabulous piece was made by Melbourne based Burgess Furniture, who were highly regarded for producing quality, beautifully crafted furniture.  Burgess commenced business in Melbourne in 1869, moved from Collingwood to Preston in 1958 and sadly, due to economic pressures closed their doors in 2005. Burgess Furniture today is still a brand synonymous with quality, hence the ongoing popularity of their pieces.  It features;

Condition overview; in good condition relative to its age, it is a very solid, well-made piece.  All of the drawers and doors work well.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock (including to the bottom edge of the left-hand side) and surface marks (including to the top).
