This superb sideboard was made by Australian designer and furniture maker John Grimes.  As with many Australian furniture makers at the time, his designs were very much influenced by Scandinavian furniture designers of the era.  It features;

• 3 dovetail-joined drawers (the left one has a sliding & removable cutlery drawer)
• 4 door cabinet
• recessed base
• tapered & splayed legs

Condition overview; in good condition, relative to its age, it is a solid, well-made piece.  All of the doors and drawers work well.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock (including to the front left-hand corner of the top) and surface marks (including to the second to left door, right-hand side & top).
