6712 - Teak Retro Vintage Glass Display Cabinet – Library Bookcase

This fabulous piece was made by Melbourne based Burgess Furniture, who were highly regarded for producing quality, beautifully crafted furniture.  Burgess commenced business in Melbourne in 1869, moved from Collingwood to Preston in 1958 and sadly, due to economic pressures closed their doors in 2005. Burgess Furniture today is still a brand synonymous with quality, hence the ongoing popularity of their pieces.  It features;

  • teak timber & teak veneer construction
  • circa 1960’s
  • 2 glass display doors
  • contoured features to the doors
  • 6 fully height adjustable glass shelves (removable)
  • plinth base
  • makers label; Burgess Furniture

Condition overview; in good condition, relative to its age, it is a solid and sturdy piece.  There are no cracks in the glass.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, there are general wear, knock and surface marks and there is a slight gap where the two doors come together.
